Classification
1.High carbon steel refers to the steel with a longer tempering time and high carbon content (0.6% ~ 2%), which can be quenched and tempered. The main uses are general bearings, cutting tools (carbon tool steel), rail, steel frame die (used to shape steel) and steel doors, etc. Among them, the hammer and crowbar are made of steel with 0.75% carbon content; Cutting tools such as drills, taps, reamers, etc. are made of steel with a carbon content of 0.90% to 1.00%.
2.Medium carbon steel refers to the tempering time is shorter than high carbon steel, moderate carbon content (0.3% ~ 0.6%), the nature between high carbon steel and low carbon steel steel, the main use is to make stainless steel.
3.Low carbon steel is carbon steel with carbon content of 0.02% ~ 0.3%, short tempering time, soft quality, stamping resistance and malleable, used for cold working and welding structures, such as rebar, stamping machine parts, special steel, etc. Surface carburizing can improve wear resistance.
